A Word From The Team
First of all, we would like to say that we are thinking of you; we hope that your health and that of your loved ones has been spared by this terrible pandemic.
We want to take this opportunity to discuss the importance of taking care of your health at this time!
At the clinic, we have always advocated for a healthy lifestyle and we encourage you to put these healthy habits into practice!
As renowned sports psychologist Jean François Ménard so aptly explains: ” il faut donner un SENS à votre vie” (You have to give your life meaning).
S: sleep
E: exercise
N: nutrition
S: stress
S: Get a better night of sleep
A good night’s sleep . . . sleep helps strengthen the immune system.
Trying to reduce our anxiety level will also help us sleep better. Try to spend less time on Facebook and other social media, and instead consult reliable sources such as our government’s daily press briefings.
E: Take care of yourself by exercising every day to make you feel good: going for a walk is a great form of exercise, or practice yoga/meditation to reduce anxiety. It’s time to try new things or do exercise you never had time for before.
N: Strengthen your immune system. Watch what you eat. Eat well to help your body better defend itself against viruses. Limit sugar intake . . . it’s not only harmful for your teeth, it puts you at greater risk for diabetes. The link between diabetes and gum disease is well established.
So less sugar = less risk of cavities, diabetes and gum disease, thus reducing the risk of tooth pain and abscesses.
S: Reduce stress . . . do things you enjoy and take care of yourself to put that smile back on your face. Smiling is contagious and good for morale!
When we smile, just like when we exercise, we secrete endorphins, also known as happiness hormones.
We would like to take this opportunity to CONGRATULATE all of our patients who have always practised proper preventive dental hygiene and followed our recommendations. Continue to take good care of your teeth and gums! Now more than ever, while our clinic is closed, you will see the benefits. Good job!
And to those who doubted us . . . you can see we were right!
We encourage you to increase your dental hygiene efforts and brush twice daily. And don’t tell us that you didn’t have time to floss! Hahaha!
We would like to end by telling you not to worry, we are here for you. If you have any questions, any discomfort that worries you, please call us, we are here to help.
If you have considerable pain that is not relieved by medication, a severe infection or have just suffered a trauma, please contact us by phone and we will get back to you shortly!
